A life for the forest.
We are a Colombian-Swiss initiative dedicated to the protection and restoration of the tropical rainforest.
Our origin
The project began as a family initiative by Gladys Ospina and Francisco Giraldo. Fieldwork in Cimitarra started in 1985 with the goal of conserving local biodiversity.
The team in Colombia
Daily implementation on the ground is carried out by the local team, led by Alexander Giraldo. The team plants the seedlings, maintains the corridors, and works hand in hand with the community.
The Swiss board
Our association in Switzerland supports the work on the ground. The entire board works as volunteers, meaning there are zero administrative costs and every donation goes directly to Colombia.
Tatiana
President of the association
Tatiana is the visionary and driving force of the association. She brings people together and builds partnerships that connect conservation with sustainable development. Her heart beats for biodiversity and for the local community, because real protection only works when people and nature are connected.
Stephan
Board member
Stephan first came across rainforest protection in economics lectures on positive externalities. Biology was never his strength, so he keeps learning through the project. He supports the association on organisational matters and makes sure funds are used efficiently.
Andrea
Board member
Andrea is our motivating force. With her eye for what matters, she brings structure to ideas, clarity to projects and keeps us together as a team. Her positive energy is contagious.
Our partners
Fundación Primates, Wyss Foundation, HR Campus AG. HR Campus AG currently supports us with laptops for the classes, with connecting the forest and with the school garden for the children.
