Education
School nursery: in a pilot school, 15 to 20 students grow seedlings with their teachers that are later planted in the biological corridors.
Laptops and virtual classes: 17 refurbished Swiss laptops were delivered to three rural schools. Around 40 children participate in virtual classes from Switzerland.

What is Reserva Natural Porvenir?+
A Swiss tax-exempt non-profit association based in Wetzikon ZH. We protect 550 hectares of tropical rainforest in Cimitarra, Santander, Colombia, about 300 of them intact forest, and reconnect forest fragments with biological corridors of native trees.
How can I support wildlife and biodiversity in Colombia from Switzerland?+
The easiest way is TWINT on our donation page, a QR bill or a bank transfer. 30 CHF is a symbolic sponsorship for a wild animal, 60 CHF protects 1,000 m² of rainforest for one year.
Are donations tax-deductible?+
Yes, in Switzerland. The association is tax-exempt by the Canton of Zurich Tax Office. For a donation receipt, tick the box in the TWINT form or write to info@reservanatural.ch.
Which animals do you protect?+
Among others the critically endangered brown spider monkey (Ateles hybridus), the blue-billed curassow (Crax alberti), found only in Colombia, and the jaguar. 183 bird species and 117 plant species have been documented in the reserve.
What are biological corridors?+
Strips of native trees that reconnect isolated forest fragments, so monkeys, birds and big cats can move between forests again. 20,000 trees have already been planted, and about 8 km of corridors will be completed by the end of 2026.
How much of my donation reaches the field?+
The Swiss board works as volunteers, so there are no administrative costs. Only the payment provider's fees are deducted.
Can I visit the reserve or do research there?+
Yes. More than 90 scientists have already visited the reserve. We welcome research or visit requests at info@reservanatural.ch.
