Mission
The foundation Reserva Natural Porvenir is committed to the conservation of tropical rainforest and biodiversity in Cimitarra (Colombia). The short term goal is to protect the Reserva Natural Porvenir, which is currently in the center of attention, from being sold or from being used for agricultural purposes.
In the medium to long term, we would like to motivate other local landowners for reforestation and the protection of biodiversity.
The association does not pursue commercial purposes and does not seek profit. The organs are active on a voluntary basis.
Vision
The Reserva Natural Porvenir Association fulfills its purpose through the following activities:

Collaboration with local farmers, biologists and ornithologists.

Lease of existing rainforest and thus prevention of deforestation or agricultural use.

Sensitization of the local population for the valuable and unique biodiversity as well as for the already endangered species, e.g. the Blue-billed-curassow (Crax alberti) or the brown spider monkey (Ateles hybridus).

Support for the development of ecotourism as an alternative source of income to agriculture.

Reforestation and creation of a corridor to connect the forests, starting with those in the reserve.

Support the maintenance of cacao and banana trees as an alternative source of income to agriculture.
